Viscous Model
I am trying to do a flow simulation on my plane. So far i have been using the k-epsilon 2 equations because i saw that on a YouTube video. I am completely new to fluent. I am trying to learn or the terminology.
How do i know which viscous model to use? Do i have to do some hand calculations? I have a delta wing plane with canards at 100 m/s. For mesh i used tetrahedrons, curvature, coarse. My orthogonality quality seems to be 0.099 with a maximum aspect ratio of 30. Thanks for the help. |
Hello! For such a simulation one should study boundary layer theory. You need a mesh with inflation and prism elements in the boundary layer. How to distribute points in the boundary layer - take y+ value =1 for first layer thickness. For turbulence modeling sst kw is very good, and transition sst can be used for transition modeling (study turbulence and boundary layer theory - you need them)

Thanks for the help. I will try to learn boundary layer thickness. I have a fluids books. Do you have any good books as reference to study? I will take your suggestions.
