Rudolf Diesel is on a distinguished road
I am trying a combustion simulation of diesel engine under the following settings.

I compared a pressure history between a simulation and a experimental.
However I don't get a agreement at the ignition delay period.
I tried to change some parameters, but i never get ignition delay from simulation.

How can i get a ignition delay from simulation?
Please help me.

Hi.
The ignition delay depends on the reaction mechanism you have...you should use one in the litterature that is well tested for diesel. I used to work with this one (29 species): here from The university of Wisconsin Madison.

I see you set the gauge pressure at 0.... It is the cylinder pressure ...take the intial value of pressure trace of your experiment.

Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Let me know the Species model you are using to find Ignition delay. I am using steady diffusion flamelet non-premixed combustion model (which is I guess wrong ). But we also have a problem of not getting ignition delay Instead as soon we insert droplet onto the chamber the combustion start. I am using DPM model for droplet combustion. We may gate Ignition delay from Diesel unsteady flamelet but the option will not appear until we ON the dynamic mesh option. We must discuss in details if you want
