'Calculate' dialog box not responding

Hi!

I am running a 2D LES simulation on V18.1. After initializing and running the simulation, the data files are written and "Done" is displayed. After that, the 'Calculate' dialog box is supposed to close, but it doesn't, and after a while, it displays "not responding". The program eventually has to be closed which means I am getting no results. This happens quite a lot but sometimes it doesn't, so I'm assuming the simulation is not the problem. When it happens, it doesn't matter how many iterations it's been run for; at the very end, it freezes.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, advice will be greatly appreciated!

After months of struggling with the same problem, I find the solution 10 minutes after posting about it in the forum.

It seems like when I have contour plots, which I need to check between timesteps to ensure that the solution is correct, the 'calculate' dialog box freezes after the simulation. Must be a bug.

I've run into several mysterious bugs in Fluent when graphics are involved that tends to be machine specific and often very repeatable.

On one machine, when I tried to make filled contour plots would not be filled and show only the contour lines. However, if the contour would be filled if you pan the graphics window around but only while you are panning! Once you stop panning, the contour goes back to being weird again.

Not sure what can be done to fix the issue because: what causes it? Probably there is a user settings file somewhere that is messed up. Have you tried a fresh install of Ansys or the VS C++ packages?
