Rotating cone on a stationary plate

Hi all,

I am trying to model a viscometer with ansys-fluent. I am not sure if I need to use sliding mesh or if a rotating frame would suffice.

The viscometer is basically a cone with its apex sitting at the origin, a flat plate is at a distance below the apex of the cone, and the area between the cone and the plate is filled with fluid. The cone is to rotate (about the Y-axis) at a certain RPM and I need to figure out the tangential velocity in the Y-direction and shear stress profile-on the surface of the plate.

Thanks a lot for your help,

I am new and I am struggling so any tips or pieces of advice are highly appreciated,

Emad

This can be modeled easily with a moving wall, which may be set as b.c.
