arehman1289 is on a distinguished road
Hello,

Im using the solidification/melting model to simply melt ice in a container. I have a 1mm thick copper container at a constant temperature of 1500 K. It is completely filled with water liquid initially patched at 250K. I then run a transient simulation but dont get proper results.

1. When I select the VOF model, I even get two phases for my solid copper container, although I dont need that. I just need one phase on this material and two phases of water. I also fixed the liquidus and solidus temperature to 273.15 of water. Is there any guideline on how to use the VOF in conjunction with the Solidification/Melting model ? Most of the Fluent booklet guide is not helping. I used YouTube simulations till now.

2. I want to observe the temperature vs time plot of a single point in the water and want to view the horizontal temperature phase change line to ensure the phase is actually changing. However when I select a point to monitor, I can either select a surface or area, weighted averages. This gives me a linear graph and I am unable to really see the phase change.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks
Abdur
