lbyal is on a distinguished road
Hi all,

I have been browsing the forum for a while and it has helped me immensely in doing CFD. So thank you all very much first.

I am recently involved in simulating a fixed bed reactor (a reactor where liquid flow through a bed of catalyst particle). Because of the complex mass transfer and surface reaction involved, I'm keen to use DPM to simulate mass transfer around the catalyst and its effect on liquid flow. I know that CFD doesn't really like a bunch of particles all aggregated together with no actual movement. So I wonder if there is a way to not model particle movement, but just the species transfer aspects and the particle effects on the fluid in Ansys fluent.

I guess if you have another way to simulate this kind of system, please give me a hint by all means. Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards
Lloyd
