Urgent HELP PLZ: how to make Porous Jump (B.C.) in 3D

Hi Guys,

I am struggling with making a 3D Porous Jump Boundary condition. In 2D I used just draw a line/edge in my pipe and then use the "fill" function in design modeler on the edge and the pipe face (fluid Domain) and Ansys meshing use to not mesh that and take the common nodes. Later on in Fluent i used to set the B.C. as porous jump and everything worked perfect.

Now for 3D I understand that I need to make a face rather than a line, which I do but fill option in unavailable and meshing does not recognise it and fluent also doesnt even show that in the boundary conditions (Even though I named it correctly).

Could someone explain what I need to do for 3D B.C. of Porous jump?

As I was reading online, My only difficulty is how to make fluent understand an internal face/ Interior boundary

Hello Payar,
As per my knowledge, for 3D case - make the porous body as separate body. Later on, under cell zone conditions, choose the respective body and define porous zone. If the body doesn't lie perpendicular to the axis, use plane tool options to define direction vectors normal to the plane..

For more than one body in a domain, interface will be automatically created, where you can define porous jump condition. If just one body, name the boundary condition as porous jump on particular face rather than creating a surface and give a try..

Thank you
