Goldenpheonix is on a distinguished road
Hello All,

I am dealing with oil and water mixing problem. I just want to study the flow circulation pattern and wall shear stresses while mixing oil and water. Instead of doing multiphase simulation, how correct is it to simulate single phase water flow but use the average properties of the mixture such as density and viscosity so that the effect of high viscosity and low density of the multiphase mixture is incorporated in the simulation? Will this approach be more accurate than just solving single phase water flow to study the flow circulations inside the mixing tank? Please enlighten me! Thanks in advance!
