I have a simple domain 2D; the inlet is pipe (8mm) in a domain of 4m² (pressure outlet), I want the air coming into the domain to have a temperature of 340kelvin, Can someone please tell me how to do that? everythingelse is ambiant.

You mean that the inlet fluid has a set temperature? Just enable the energy equation, then choose the "Thermal" tab on your inlet border condition and set the value you want.

the problem is the domain tepmerature, I want the domain to be at the ambiant temperature so that i can see the domain heating up. boundaries are all pressure outlet

hi
as i understand, u have a pipe as an inlet that push the air to ur domain(4m^2) .is that correct? if yes there's no temp diffrence.if theres a temp diffrence in ur problem, send a sketch from ur geomtry and conditions. |

what r ur datas?
1-what's the speed and temp of inlet air?(properties of inlet air) 2-are ur walls inulated or not? if not what's the properties? |

This is a transient problem. You want to set the air inlet temperature to be 340K as a boundary condition.
For the ambient air in the domain, you want to set its initial temperature (at say time = 0s) to be 300K. You set this in the initialization. |

the velocity in the inlet is 5m/s
temperature is 340k the boundaries are not WALLS their set to PRESSURE OUTLET please help. |

I think LuckyTran gave you your answer. Initialize the domain as the ambient temperature using Standard Initialization methods. Then model your case as a transient study with the inlet set to what you previously described.

If you use hybrid initialization, you will not be able to set the domain temperature. It will instead interpolate it from the inlet temperature, which is not what you want. Using Standard Initialization, under the Initial Values, set the temperature to whatever you need it to be set to initially. As you simulate, the change in temperature will be calculated from you inlet.
