I want to model an axial fan using LES, with the goal of predicting sound using the Ffowcs-Williams Hawkings acoustic model. To save time, I am considering modeling only one blade and applying periodic boundary conditions, but I am unsure whether Fluent's FW-H model is "aware" of acoustic sources outside the computational domain (those implied by periodicity), or if it only considers sources in the domain. Help would be much appreciated!

Yes it works. You only need to convince yourself.
