Hello guys,
I am working on conjugate heat transfer problem in fluent. In my problem i have one solid zone (cast iron) and one fluid zone (water). cold water flowing inside to the solid part (like water flowing in a pipe). water is used to cool the solid part. I have created coupled interface (wall and wall shadow) between solid and fluid zone. The solution converged but there is no conjugate heat transfer occurs. I tried this problem many time with all possible way. please help me with this.

Boundary condition:
water inlet velocity = 2 m/s
water inlet temp = 303K
outlet pressure = 2.5bar
solid part temperature = 453K (I dont have h and heat flux value)

Questions:
1. how to set thermal boundary condition if i only know solid temperature?
2. solution converged but no conjugate heat transfer taking place?

Thanks in advance...Its urgent please help me with this guys.

try to decrease inlet velocity from 2m/s to 0.2m/s or even 0.02m/s
check material properties of fluid, is it water? (may be it is still air by the mistake?)

best regards

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I checked water properties and it is good.

Questions:
CHT problem:
how to set thermal boundary condition if i only know solid temperature ?

Thanks in advance...

BC depends on your model, on the goal of your simulation.
What does it mean, temperature of solid?
Does you simulation steady state or transient?
What about solid temperature, is it constant through the whole simulation?
Or this is temperature at the simulation beginning only?

best regards

Hello All,
I am trying to set up the case where the structure is doing heat transfer with the fluid in SU2. So I want to know if is it possible to set the conjugate heat transfer case with FSI in SU2.
