Hi all,

I am having two cylinders, where smaller one is literally inside the big one.
The smaller one inside the big cylinder acts as a heating source; therefore, I need surrounding walls of the smaller cylinder in the boundary condition.
However, when I load mesh in fluent, the boundary condition shows the surrounding walls of the smaller cylinder as "contact region" with 'interface' type, even though I created named selection in mesh.

I cannot change the type to walls, because when I right click the name in the boundary condition, there's only 'interface'.

How can I make it as walls in the boundary condition?

---------------------------------------------------------------------
My bad, it's 'interface', not 'interior', for the title of the post

Also ummm in Mesh, I just deleted this contact region, and loaded in Fluent, then, it just appeared as walls as what I've been looking for lol
is it correct method?

You can have two cell zones. Both cylinders in the same cell zone or one cell zone for each cylinder.

If you have two cell zones, then you should have an interface. The inner wall of the outer cylinder is in contact with the outer wall of the inner cylinder. It may be imported as walls, but eventually you should convert it to a contact interface.

If you have only one cell zone, it should be an interior type because it's not a boundary.

In neither case should it a boundary condition be applied on that surface(s). Otherwise you don't need to model the inner or outer cylinder together. You can just model the outer cylinder only or the inner cylinder only.
