I want to use the FWH model and my main goal is to calculate the sound pressure level and the octave bands.
Is there any tutorial on this topic?
I am following the information in the manual, I performed the aerodynamics calculation, but I am not understanding the role of "acoustic sources" that I have to define, that is a selection of surfaces basically if I understood well, but I am not sure of that. It is a thing that I did not expect to define manually.
The case I am studying is a fan in a duct, do I have to select every wall of the domain?

Thank you in advance!!

Hey Ammad,

I am also trying to perform aeroacoustics in openfoam. I am not sure if you have came across libAcosutics library (FWH, Curles) by unicfd lab. What is your application?

I am trying to use that for simulating the noise of propeller. If you already have more information on this, I would be glad if you could help me with my questions.

Thanks.
Regards,
Chakshu

Hello Chakshu,

yes i know about the library and my main goal will be implementing that library in my simulation. I am also simulating a fan, maybe we can help each other during the project. How can i contact you?

kind regards,
Ammad

Hello Chakshu and xCFD, I am also trying to perform similar work using Fluent and openFOAM. If you guys can add me to your network, it will be great.
Thank you
