Default Inlet and outlet conditions for actuator disc sim

So I'm currently trying to model an actuator disc simulation of a propeller. I've got my fan domain with pressure difference set up and I've got my surrounding nearfield and farfield set up as well. I was just wondering what inlet and outlet conditions to use for the far upstream inlet and far downstream outlet. Would a traditional velocity-inlet/pressure-outlet configuration be best? What velocity value should be used? If not, could a pressure-inlet/pressure-outlet be a possibility?

The outlet should be a pressure outlet with ambient pressure as the BC.

The inlet should also be a pressure inlet, with ambient pressure as the BC. Probably you are not aware that at pressure inlets you are specifying the stagnation pressure (not the static pressure).


Your fan does all the work to push the flow through the domain, assuming you have set it up properly.

Thanks. I already thought a pressure-inlet made more sense, but had to be sure.
