Good day
Im going to buy a second hand Tesla C2050 or M2070 really cheap 50+USD, is it still good for ANSYS 19? Specifically Fluent I am building my new budget workstation for 700usd Specs: Ryzen 7 1700 or Ryzen 5 2600 MSI X370 SLI 16gb (8×2) DDR4 3200mhz ram (any compatible that is also available) 80+ PSU that supports SLI Nvme ssd 250gb I want amd for future upgradability not 2nd hand xeons But Intel build recommendations are welcome To the ryzen and old Tesla GPGPU owners out there please share youre experience The tesla is still a good buy though? Especially for double precision compute performance. |

my opinion:
you dont need GPU for computation at your home workstation, invest in processor as much as you can. In that case GPU is needed for visualization only. best regards |

Yes it does. And there are some caveats you should be aware of: GPU acceleration in Ansys Fluent
In my opinion, a Tesla C2050 is most likely a waste of money, real estate and energy. |
