meshing one fluid into two parts

I was wondering what will happen if i seperate a fluid domain into two parts and make a non-conformal mesh? (the fluid is water in all parts). the reason that i'm doing it is that i want to create finer mesh for a part and as a result reduce the number of mesh.
in this case, Will the results be the same as when i use just one part?
I wanna do this in fluent, that's why i asked this question in fluent forum.

Use 2 fluid blocks and apply a local mesh to the one that you want to have finer cells.
