Using Fluent meshing on HPC
Hello,
I am trying to run fluent meshing on HPC without GUI. I read and tried the documentation to use text commands to create the mesh, but so far I could not figure out how to do it. My questions are the followings: - is it possible to load a scdoc geometry file and create the mesh using only TUI commands? - would it be possible to load a coarse mesh with read-mesh and remesh using only text commands? - if any of the above is possible that can I generate a journal file and run it on a remote computer? Thank you. |
Two options that I can think of:
A) 1 Record the journal while you are using fluent GUI 2 Edit the recorded journal. Remove all GUI commands, leaving only TUI commands 3 Check whether these remaining commands do everything that you need to do B) Ask the HPC facility administrators about availability of VNC or x2go access |

Use TUI commands
GUI journal will not work as it is. You have to use TUI commands in the journal. If those are not known, then you have to press Enter in Fluent Meshing and it will show all commands. Type one of these and press Enter and it will shows second level commands and so on. You have to develop TUI based journal. I am not sure but may be in newer versions Fluent has option to record TUI journal instead of GUI journal.
