Jaxx is on a distinguished road
Hi,
I am trying to investigate the effects a certain propulsor has on re-energizing boundary layer flow over an aircraft body, using ANSYS Fluent. I have been told to model the propulsor using the actuator disk model (momentum source) and porous jump (momentum sink). I am new to ANSYS and when I try researching actuator disk model, I can't find any tutorials/info that describes it properly and how to use it in ANSYS. I also don't understand how using the actuator disk model and porous jump will help me investigate the effects the propulsor has on re-energising the flow.
Can someone help me understand the actuator disk model and porous jump (their purposes and how to implement them in a 2D ANSYS simulation). Do I have to make the propulsor on solidworks, import to ANSYS and then turn it into an actuator disk?
Any help will be appreciated as I am really struggling with this.
Thank you

vinerm will become famous soon enough
In Fluent, it is called Virtual Blade Model. Most likely it is a beta feature. Earlier it was available only as a compiled UDF.
