Mesh interfaces

Good morning,

When simulating a wind tunnel with a heat sink, on the mesh interfaces tab, I can't select the 'couple wall' option; the error "Please specify name for interace in Mesh Interface field" appears.
I think this is why, when trying to run the simulation, the error "Divergenge detected in AMG solver" appears.

Can someone help me?

Thank you!

Interface

While creating a mesh interface, Fluent requires the user to enter a name for the interface in the top-left corner. It can be any name without spaces.

Do you have a moving mesh in your simulation? If not, then interfaces are not required.

If you received a mesh from someone else, then you may not have much control and you need to proceed with interface. However, if you generated the mesh at your end, it would be recommended to generate a conformal mesh so that it does not require interfaces.

Vinerm,

Thanks for your quick answer.

I don't have a moving mesh. And when running the simulation, the error "Divergenge detected in AMG solver" appears. I thought the error could be due to mesh interfaces because I already checked boundary conditions, time step, number of iterations, energy equation, mesh refinement... and it still remains.
Do you know what that might be?

Best regards.

Divergence

Divergence could have multiple reasons, starting from mesh to numerics. First you need to check if mesh quality is good or not. If mesh doesn't pass Grid check in Fluent, then it won't run. Second, since you're using interfaces, the type of interface has to be appropriate. This may not always lead to divergence but it has potential. Another important aspect is initialization. If initialization is not good, divergence can occur.

Divergence at the very first iteration implies something is wrong with the setup or initialization. Divergence after a certain number of iterations could be due to numerics or mesh and may also be due to setup and initialization.
