Hi, everyone.
I'm trying to check species consumption and generation using net reaction rate of species and kinetic reaction rate of reactions from Fluent data. But some values of these parameters were negative. I think that the reaction rate of them would be negative when the species are consumed and kinetic reaction rate would be negative when the reactions are reverse. But I'm not sure if it is right or not. If somebody know why these values are negative, let me know. |

Yes, your understanding is correct. Reaction rate can go negative if look at the expression 7.1-8 for total reaction rate
https://www.afs.enea.it/project/nept...th/node129.htm However, to confirm, you can disable backward reaction and check if you still observe any negative rate.
