Hi,

I want to take area-averaged velocity in a specific region (please see the figure attached here). Do you know how I can do this? Do I need to define a new cell zone? If so, where I can define a new cell zone in Fluent?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Though it can be done with ease, you do not need to define a new cell zone. You can create an iso-clip by defining minimum and maximum values for the coordinates and create an iso-clip from an existing surface or zone. Then, you can report whatever parameter you want on this iso-clip. Iso-clip is available under Surface.

Thanks for the prompt response. How if I want to make a new cell zone? Is it possible to do this in Fluent or I need to do it in the mesh?

Thanks.

You can do that in Fluent, however, a clear demarcation is not always possible. You can use Adapt > Field Variables > Mark after defining minimum and maximum values for any field variable, say, position coordinates or pressure or temperature. Then, using this mark, you can separate cell zone into multiple parts.

Hello everyone!!

In ansys post processing, I have created a surface which interacts with a fan blade. Now, I want the boundary interaction between the two and and create a polyline where Cp value can be calculated. How to do that, any suggesions?
