Energy equation and dynamic mesh

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

Im solving a 1D transient heat transfer problem in a solid that consists in half a cylinder with a given heat flux at the upper wall and adiabatic conditions at the side wall, bottom wall and symmetry plane. I also use dynamic mesh to impose a rigid solid motion on the cylinder.

After I ran the case using the density-based model I noticed that the temperature distribution is different when the solid is fixed and when it moves, even though the heat flux is constant and no external fluid is modelled. The discrepancies are more evident when the velocity is increased.

Solving the temperature field with a UDS and the density-based solver is consistent though, no dependece on the velocity. Also, using the pressure-based solver shows the same Temp distribution for all velocities. This cylinder belongs to a larger model that is solved with a density based solver, so I cannot use the pressure based solver.

Do you have any idea why I have different results when the cylinder moves?

Thanks in advance.

Any idea why this happens?
