csf models couple with dynamic mesh
 
Dear all:

I was studying a question which needs to couple with CSF model(to calculate surface tension) with dynamic mesh in two phase flow. However, CSF model requires quadrilaterals or hexahedra cell type and dynamic mesh requires triangular and tetrahedral cell type. I want to know if there is a method to balance the problem.

There are no such requirements of CSF. It works with all types of meshes.

The CSF model can indeed use different types of grids.However, except quadrilateral and polyhedral mesh, patched liquid level will be uneven, which will cause a large error in surface tension calculated by CSF.

Yes, that is certainly the case, but you have to find a compromise. And it also depends on the motion of the boundary and its proximity to the interface.

My model is an open channel flow of boat, so it's really hard to balance.I want to know whether Cutcell remeshing method is available. I generate Cartesian grid in ICEM and select Spring Smothing method in Fluent, but this will cause MPI.When diffusion is selected, it indicates that the current diffusion method is not applicable to the polyhedral mesh.

Smoothing
 
If you are only using smoothing, then you can work with full hex as well. However, if you are using remeshing, then hex won't work. I am not sure whether new version handle cutcell or not. But you can try with overset. That could be a better alternative to deforming mesh.
