Query in setting case file for gasification in fluidized bed
 

Hello everyone,

I have set-up the case for the gasification (only char as solid) in the fluidized bed. I have created the mixture-gas with different species as primary phase. I chose laminar finite rate model in species transport and mentioned the required information of rate constant (k) and activation energy (Ea) for each homogenous reaction. I chose the option of reaction mechanisms and opted all the mechanisms created.

For heterogenous reaction, I used an UDF available in google and hooked the UDF in the phase interation (reaction tab) and also mentioned k and Ea.

Once simulation started running, the reaction rates of homogenous reaction is showing zero, whereas the heterogenous reaction rates is giving a value and therefore there is change in the concentration of species involved in heterogenous.

As the homogenous reaction rate is showing zero, new species which are only involvd in homogenous reaction were not formed.

And Iam using Eulerian approach for both phases

Could anyone suggest why the homogenous reaction rates are returning zero value?
