Hey all.

I have a 2-phase flow problem I'm modeling. We are essentially spraying a stream of air and a concentric stream of viscous fluid onto a rotating cylinder. I am modeling both the spraying component and collection on the rotating cylinder.

The responses of the fluids are adequate up until they reach the rotating cylinder.

I've tried using a regular rotating boundary condition (wall -> rotational motion) and specifying the conditions.

I've tried using a cell zone for the collector, setting to solid, and specifying it with a moving reference frame. ((two parts in DM, meshed, then specified two separate zones with the interface))

I've also tried using a cell zone of the primary air phase around the collector and setting it as a moving reference frame. (one part in DM, meshed, then specified two separate zones.)

With any of the viscous models (laminar and turbulent) I've tried using the various wall-enhancing functions, but they don't allow for the fluid to actually interact with the cylinder's rotation.

The closest I've come is the rotating cell zone of air around the collector, it appears to "work" where each of the fluids can interact with the rotating zone, but then the primary phase stream that is approaching that zone interacts with the primary phase of the rotating zone and dissipates its velocity, while the secondary phase doesn't seem to cross the interface (which would be okay if the primary phase didn't affect the interior of that zone).

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious?

Any suggestions?

I can send screen grabs via PM if needed.
