Postprocessing results on complex surface

Hello,

I am relatively new working with ANSYS and I am trying to find a way to show results on a complex surface. I am studying wind conditions around a building and I want to to have the results in a surface such as the one for the terrain but 1.5m above. I can only have an horizontal plane.... (see below):

How can I do this with Ansys?

This is fluent, right?

Of course this can be done. Many ways actually.

The most neat and appropriate way for you is probably to use "Transform Surface" tool in fluent (see attached picture), where you will create a new surface being a translation of the ground surface.

Another way would be creating an iso-surface based on wall distance. See attached picture. However, this surface will also circumvent the building, which you might not want. That problem can probably be fixed by temporary setting building boundary to something else than wall, just for sake of iso-surface creation and visualization. Note that if you turn it back to wall boundary and iterate, the iso-surface will update and circumvent the building again.

Yet another way, would be to actually draw it in geometry, mesh it and just set it as an interior boundary so that you can use it for post-processing. This approach work best if the need for such surface is realized at geometry step, before doing the mesh, but for you it means doing the mesh and simulation again...

Thanks a lot for your reply! That works for me. I tried everything you said except for doing the mesh and simulation again.

The transform surface tool is exactly the solution I was hoping to find.
