Adding reactions through UDF in FRC simulations

Hi everyone,

I am trying to simulate a laminar burner with ethylene flame. Due to nature of the experiments that I am trying to validate, i need to add 2 additional reactions. They cannot be directly to the imported chemkin mechanism as I need to modify the reaction rates based on flow field parameters.

This is one of the reaction -
CxHy (g) + O2 -> CO2 + H2O. (ignore the mass balance).

I have added mass source terms for each of the above species as I know the reaction rate. My question is whether we need to add an energy source as well for this reaction or will Fluent automatically calculate the enthalpy change from this reaction as I am adding to the mass fractions of the existing species in teh gas phase?

(The issue im facing is that when i hook the energy equation, the temperature blows up)
