Hi everyone,

I'm doing a simulation to evaluate the effect of stenosis severity on the hemodynamic of carotid artery. For my inlet BC, I applied a time-dependent velocity profile in the form of transient table. And for the outlet BCs, I applied a pressure outlet BC for one of the outlet (internal carotid artery outlet). But for the external carotid artery outlet, I'm not quite sure which BC to assign for it.

Should I apply outflow BC for the external carotid artery? (as the flow division ratio, internal carotid flow/common carotid flow is given) Or should I use pressure outlet by specifying the target mass flow rate? (as the flow rate can be calculated from the flow division ratio)

Appreciate if someone could help me out.

Thank you,

Soo
