I AM TRAINED TO DO A 2D SIMULATION OF A FLOW IN A DUCT ,
IN THE PRESENCE OF AN OBSTACLE,
HOW I SHOULD FILL IN THE REFERENCES VALUES
IS WHAT IT IS BY SUPPLY TO THE FLUID OR TO THE SOLID.

Hello,

Reference values are mainly used by Fluent to find out lift, drag etc. For example, if you are calculating the drag coefficient, then Fluent will use area to find out the drag coefficient.

Unless you are doing this kind of simulations, then no need to change these values. Refer help documentation to understand when Fluent is using these values.
