Hi
I am implementing the Mass-flow-boundary condition in Fluent. I am simulating the external aerodynamics of a body. It has a intake vent for cooling. My simulations are not concerned with the cooling. However, I am defining a face as a mass-flow-outlet to better approximate the effect of the cooling intake. Again, the intake is not a big point of interest, I just can't have a solid wall there as it will upset other areas of interest. I have tried implementing this conditon on Fluent 2020R2 and 19.2. V2020R2 does not have the option of specifying the direction whereas V19.2 allows the user to select either the outward normal to the face or specify a direction. I have done a simulation to compare the two and ensure that mass is leaving the domain at the specified rate. But, could someone please confirm this: ? - If I create a surface monitor for the outlet face, the value will be negative for mass leaving the domain. |
