Can we a create spatial-temporal velocity profile in Ansys Fluent?

I am doing a 2D axisymmetric simulation of a pulsating jet impingement using ANSYS Fluent.
- The geometry/mesh is a rectangular domain, with an inlet at one corner
- In the case of the steady jet, I used to simulate a separate simulation for the same diameter pipe flow, and export velocity from there to the current domain
- But in the case of pulsating jets, the velocity varies with time and space at the domain inlet
- When I apply a time-varying sinusoidal velocity profile at the inlet, I get a spatially uniform velocity profile at the inlet
- One idea is to include the pipe length in the current geometry/mesh domain, but that will increase the computational time and cost when doing parametric investigation
- Is there any way to include a spatial and temporal variation in the velocity profile at the inlet without adding a whole pipe geometry to the mesh?

Please let me know if more information is required from my side. Thank you.

you may control boundary conditions using transient profile or using udf (define_profile macro), now expressions are available also

it could be both spatial and temporal variations

for example: you've mentioned you've applied a time-varying sinusoidal velocity profile at the inlet -> add there coordinate dependence for velocity (across inlet)
