Hello everyone! Im working on a simulation of a blood flow through an artery, and i am interested in calculating the OSI (Oscillatory Shear Index)

I have read other threads on this forum about the OSI, but i'm still not sure about how to proceed on this.

Is it possible to calculate the OSI via custom field functions directly?
In case that the answer is no, which method is recommendable? Exporting data to an external program such as Matlab and operate with it, or is it easier to do it using UDFs?

Thank you very much!
(PS: I apologize for my english grammatical errors)

Sorry for replying my own question, but i get the solution for my problem and i want to share it with everyone who would need it some day.

You can calculate the OSI creating a custom field function like this:
0.5 * (1 - (sqrt (mean-x-wall-shear ^ 2 + mean-y-wall-shear ^ 2 + mean-z-wall-shear ^ 2) / mean-wall-shear))

Thanks!

Hello Sergio.

Did you create the custom field function at cfd post, or it can be implemented at Fluent to obtain the OSI at each time-step.

Thx in advance

Dear Sergio_ST,
I have tried the same but it shows the error: unit mismatch
any suggestions?

Default Dear Sergio_ST,Is the custom field function created after calculation convergence?

Or can I use data sampling to calculate OSI?How do I need to operate it

While writing the expression provided above. I do not find mean in the custom field function. How can I enter that?
(Or) Can I write the same expression in CFD post directly for OSI calculation
Hope anyone of you clarifies this.

Thanks
