fan boundary condition and angle of attack
1 Attachment(s)
I am using the boundary condition fan in fluent 2020 R1 to analyze the rotation of the fan immersed in a current at angle of attack alpha 4, in fact the input speed has the components vx = v * cos (4) and vz = v * sin (4) since the reference system is such that the x axis is coincident with the axis of rotation of the fan, z upwards and ya left, as can be seen from the draft.
I want the fan rotation axis to be in the x direction and in the fluid panel I set (1,0,0) for rotation axis direction and (0,0,0) for origin. I still don't understand why the contour produces a different tangential velocity profile than what I expect. Is it influenced by the angle of attack? how can I solve this problem? Attachment 88478 |

You can try rotating the surface for fan boundary condition to the desired angle of attack while keeping the inlet condition at 0 deg AoA.
