Hello everyone,
So I am working on a multi-level model for a water network (like a house or a mall) using both Ansys Fluent and process software called Aspen Hysys. The idea is to use fluent to figure out flow conditions in a network and then use Hysys to do LCA, etc. Currently I am working with example model geometry for tanks, pipes and ndoes (think faucets, toilets, etc). The issue here is that I only have information regarding usage at ths node, so outlet conditions for mass flow rate. I want to be able to use that to work backwards down the network to the main tank (our first component) which we have inlet velocity value. I am wondering if its possible for Fluent to calculate inlet flow conditions given only outlet conditions? For example, a faucet I know the coldwater and hotwater inlet temperature, I know outlet velocity and pressure (it would be ambient so 0 gauge pressure). What sort of boundary conditions should I use at the inlet so I can find the proper inlet mass flow rate and/or velocity? After that I would like the extrapoloate the same method to distribution pipes all the way back to the main tank. Is this feasble with Fluent? Thank You |
