Fluent Solidification and Melting Model - growth rate

Dear Users,
we are simulating Crystal growth with Fluent and Crysmas and there are big differences in a local Model between both simulations. We discovered that the growth rate in Crysmas has a huge influence on the temperature profile where as in Fluent there is no possibility to set the rate. We are calculation in a steady state so the growth rate should affect the release of latent heat. We tried to implement an energy approach but the results are still too different to the ones in Crysmas. We have a steady simulation in an ampule, the boundaries get a temperature profile and we want to calculate the temperature in the crystal. When we calculate without solidification or melting (temperature way beyond or above the melting point) the results just slightly differ. So we figured the phase change has an impact on the temperature. Has anybody an idea how we are able to manipulate the release of latent heat? I hope you understand my issue. Thank you! |
