Initialisation problem for Detonation simulation in FLUENT

2 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone!
I am currently working on a project trying to validate a paper on detonation simulation. The computational domain is 2D as shown in image attached below.

I have made the mesh and set the boundary conditions properly but I am having problem initializing the flow to form a detonation. In the "Initialization" image ,which is from the reference paper, it is mentioned that to initiate detonation "Region 3" is initiated with pressure 15 atm and temperature 3600 K.

I do not know how to initialize the case in FLUENT so I would appreciate your help in solving this problem.
Thank You.

Have you tried defining the region that you wish to initialize as a separate cell zone during mesh generation and then using the patch option after initialization?

Thank you for answering. I tried that, now it works.

Although the problem now is after the ignition the detonation wave moves towards both walls from ignition point and as both walls are supposed to be periodic, two shock fronts will collide with each other.

Is there a way to make walls periodic only after some time has passed? like in this case the periodic wall must activate after shock front reaches right wall first.

Run the simulation up until "some time has passed." Then make the walls periodic. Literally just do it.

Thanks for the help! My simulation is running as required.
