Error when creating an enclosure
 

After I generated my geometry on DesignModeler, I created an enclosure. However I got this error and warning:


Error: Boolean operation failed
Context: Geometry Engine, while generating Feature Enclosure1

Warning: At least one of the imported/attached/converted bodies could not be validated. It is possible that subsequent modeling operations will fail.
Additional information: The following could not be validated: Component7, Component17, Component20

Any suggestions or tips on how to overcome this?

You have probably imported the geometry that was generated in some other software.

In order to generate an enclosure and extract fluid volume, you have to first ensure that your geometry is watertight. Only a watertight geometry can be used to extract fluid volume. Every CFD engineer will first spend time to clean up the geometry and ensure that it is watertight before moving on fluid volume extraction.

And try using Spaceclaim instead of Design Modeler to clean up the geometry. It is more user friendly.
