I tried solving my model with 1000 iterations and got the residuals shown in the attached picture. How do I get the simulation to converge?
A 2D-Sketch of the model is attached. The BC's are: - mass flows inlet & outlet: 2e-5 kg/s - velocity inlet: 14 m/s - all other enclosure areas got a BC with pressure-outlet: 0 Pa The settings for the solution: Solver Type: Pressure-Based Solver Time: Steady Model: k-omega (2 eqn), SST Mesh Quality: - Skewness (Surface): Max = 0.605; Avg.= 0.016 - Orthogonal Quality (Cells): Max = 0.206; Avg. = 0.917 - Aspect Ratio: Max = 94.89; Avg. = 10.61 Cells with an aspect ratio above 5 are almost only in the inflation layers of the box. The enclosure is in all directions at least 5 times the length of the box in that direction. Also, I put a Body of Influence around the box. I am interested in the general behavior of the flow behind the box (so in front of the mass flow inlet & outlet). I watched many CFD-Videos but am still a newbie to it.. So I think, the Quality of my mesh is good? But then I don't get why my residuals won't converge. Can anyone help me? |
