How to Model sDBD plasma in ANSYS Fluent

1 Attachment(s)
Hello all,

Could anyone advise me on how to model surface dielectric barrier discharges, both offset and coplanar, in ANSYS Fluent?

I want to simulate the 2D deflagration to detonation transition in spark-ignited premixed combustion (hydrogen and oxygen) with sDBD plasma on one side of the flow.

So far, options I've seen include adding a body force UDF (which I believe is only relevant to the offset electrode configuration) using the MHD module to add an electric field along the side of the combustion chamber, adding an energy source term to the side of the combustion chamber, or simply adding ozone near the DBD plasma. (I've attached a diagram)

Does anyone have experience with which of these methods, and in what combination, to use?

Thank you so much!

Sincerely,
Undergrad Aerospace Student (trying to complete my thesis)
