Seeking Guidance on Defining 3D Rectangular Breathing Zones in ANSYS Fluent for Indoo
Hello CFD Online community,
I am currently engaged in a research project aimed at assessing the impact of ventilation systems on the reduction of contaminant concentrations in indoor environments. My simulation involves transient conditions, and I am seeking assistance in creating 3D rectangular shapes, designated as breathing zones, positioned under the nostrils of five exposed manikins. These breathing zones are crucial for monitoring the concentration reduction of contaminants throughout the entire simulation duration. In the ANSYS Fluent setup, specifically within the Surface sub-section, the available options include imprint, point, line/rake, plane, quadric, and transform. Unfortunately, none of these options directly facilitates the creation of a 3D rectangular shape. Additionally, using SpaceClaim has proven challenging, as even when a solid is created, it is automatically classified as a wall, leading to a consistent contaminant concentration of zero at the walls. I would greatly appreciate any insights, recommendations, or alternative approaches from the CFD Online community on how to define 3D rectangular breathing zones in ANSYS Fluent for my simulation.
