Hello all,

I recently started dealing with UDFs and am a little confused by the syntax/implementation.

In particular, I've been using some DEFINE_SOURCE macros, and don't fully understand the 'dS' and 'eqn' inputs.

For example:
DEFINE_SOURCE(some_name, c, t, dS, eqn)

I checked the UDF manual but it still isn't clear to me what the last two actually do. By setting dS = 0 we linearise this source term for convergence, which makes sense. What is the 'equation number' though?

I have seen in other UDFs things like dS[D_P] = 0 - I can't find anything about this anywhere online. I've been told D_ indicates a derivative, but what does this statement even mean? Is this saying that the pressure derivative in the source term is zero or something?

On another note, does anyone know what DEFINE_SOURCE_AE means? I can't find a single reference to this anywhere, I assume it's some old macro notation...

Cheers!
