Hi,
I am interested in modelling batch mixing of tracer for an unbaffled stirred tank reactor. The system involves air and liquid (water + tracer). Initially I have computed the flow field using a homogeneous VOF solver with SST k-w CC. Now I have froze the flow field (switching off flow, turbulence and volume fraction equation) and solving only for species (assuming passive transport of tracer). The tracer is injected near the surface of liquid (see picture). The mass of tracer injected is 0.06 g. What I am noticing is the concentration of tracer keeps increasing and mass is not being conserved which is physically unrealistic. Does anyone have experience in mixing simulation, particularly coupling mixing with a free surface or vortex rather than flat surface? I have been stuck on this problem for a month Picture1.png |
