Hi everyone,
I’m working on a **vortex simulation inside a jug for frothing** using **ANSYS Discovery**, and I’m struggling with the **Rotating Fluid Zone setup**. I’ve run into multiple errors, and I need **step-by-step guidance** to resolve them. ### **🚨 Errors I'm Facing in ANSYS Discovery:** 1️⃣ **"Rotating Fluid Zone Wall must be placed on faces with co-linear centers."** - I believe this means my **rotation axis is misaligned**, but I don’t know how to check or adjust it properly in **Discovery Geometry or Setup**. 2️⃣ **"Motion for Rotating Fluid Zone Wall on cylindrical walls must have parallel axial directions."** - I assume this means the **rotation axis isn't correctly defined**, but I don’t know where to verify or fix this in Discovery. 3️⃣ **"Motion for Rotating Fluid Zone Wall on planar walls must be aligned with plane normals."** - It seems Discovery doesn’t allow rotation on **flat surfaces**, but I’m unsure how to define the right motion constraints. --- ### **🔹 My Current Setup & What I’ve Tried:** ✅ **Software:** ANSYS Discovery (2024 R2) ✅ **Project:** Simulating vortex formation inside a jug used for **frothing** ✅ **Geometry:** Created in **Discovery Geometry**, sent to **Physics Setup** ✅ **Fluid Volume Extraction:** Used **Volume Extract** to isolate the internal flow region ✅ **Rotating Fluid Zone:** Defined in **Physics Setup** ✅ **Moving Wall Boundary Conditions:** Assigned to the inner walls ✅ **Rotation Axis:** Checked in Discovery, but still getting errors --- ### **🔹 What I Need Help With:** 🔹 **Step-by-step troubleshooting** for these errors 🔹 How to **check and correct rotation axis alignment** in Discovery 🔹 How to properly assign **rotating wall boundaries** for a vortex simulation inside a **sealed jug** 🔹 Recommended **Discovery Physics settings** for **rotating liquid flow in an enclosed volume** If anyone has experience with **vortex simulations in ANSYS Discovery**, especially for **frothing applications**, I’d love to hear your advice! 🚀 Would really appreciate any help! Thanks in advance! 🙏 |
