Fluent simulation crashing when using auto-export

Hi all,

I am running some VOF simulations, and would like to export the pressure, velocity, and volume fraction data every 5 timesteps. I am using the Automatic Export option to get this data in CGNS format, so I can process it on ParaView. The simulation is to run for 4500 timesteps using the adaptive time stepping method (min timestep size is a microsecond).

The issue is that when I set up this export, the simulation abruptly ends and it sends me back to the Workbench window; the Fluent window is gone! No error, too...

I ran the simulation without the automatic export, and it works. I have exported data in the CGNS format for a similar simulation in the past, so I don't quite know what is causing this now.

Please advise.

Update: Importing the case file in another project altogether fixes the issue. It is working now!

UPDATE: IT STILL ABRUPTLY STOPS!

Could be a file name issue? Do not use spaces and special character in your path.

Hey MKuhn,

I, too, suspected that was the issue. The name i give it doesn't have any special characters or spaces. But the name that Fluent gives the file (in the Save As dialog box) has "Setup-Output" appended to it when I reopen Fluent. If I copy this name, it still abruptly ends.

I also noticed this only happens when exporting in CGNS format. EnSight Case Gold format saves with no issues!
