Hello,
I'm trying to run simulation for the heat transfer to a turbine blade, I'm using NASA C3X blade for my project.
When I modeled the domain (w/o any cooling channels, just the blade) and got boundary conditions from a experimental setup, and ran the simulation, my residual value of energy equation was always at 1e-16 but other residuals were converging, and finally when every other equation converged, during post-processing, I can clearly see that the velocity and pressure contours were as expected, but when I tried plotting the temperature contour, the temperature value was constant all over the domain (sorry that I couldn't attach a pic, as the solution got reset). I have checked all the interfaces, mesh quality and boundary conditions everything was in the right track (as far as I know).
So I tried modelling a rod resembling the blade and a simple cuboid domain (fig. 1) for the flow. When I tried running that sample simulation, I can see that the energy equation here also started it's residual value from 1e-16, but it picked up to a higher value later and then started converging (fig. 2).
I couldn't understand this behavior why this was happening, It would be a great help if someone can run me through what's happening or what I'm wrong with.
Thanks in advance
