Default Experimental Data Display

Is there a method of displaying experimental data using Fluent's postprocessing capabilities. I've got a large 3d matrix of experimentally measured velocities in the x, y and z directions (i.e. all up 6d) and would like to present the data in an uniform way; so it is directly comparable to the simulated data.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Matthew,

Did you get anywhere with this? I have now been given a similar request.

Do you think patching could be used?

Althea,

I think you may have something there. It may be a bit tedious (with ~300*3 data points) but it seems like it is the best way to go. A Fluent journal file could be written to automatically 'patch' raw data - although the data formatting the data would be rather difficult also, even it means writing up code to do it automatically (statistical interpolation may need to be applied).

I have been evaluating other packages such as FieldView but they do not give results (images) one can obtain from Fluent and still do not provide the opportunity to import one's own data. I have come across a geotechnical program called "Surfer" (http://www.ssgr.com/surfer_overview.html) which may be helpful in plotting raw experimental data but it seem it would be difficult to import Fluent data.

Thanks for the suggestion. Please keep me posted with how you are proceeding also.

Regards,

Matthew.
