error in Gambit

Hi, everyone
I have been trying to mesh a rocket in GAMBIT. I created a flow domain by subtracting the rocket from the brick. All the faces from the rocket mesh with no problems using tri pave, but when I try to mesh the volume (using tetrahedral - Tgrid) I get the following error message: Error: Initialization failed TG_Mesh_Domain failed with error code 1 Tetrahedral meshing has failed for volume volume 6 This is usually caused by problems in the face meshes. Check the skewness of your face meshes and make sure the face mesh size is not too large in areas of small gaps. There is approx. 1 % of elements with equiangle skew of greater than 0.9. I have tried adjusting face mesh size with no luck. I am not sure how to reduce the skew value. Appreciate any help, Thanks |

Try to check where your skewed elements are. If you can't do this with gambit use TGrid.
You may have very small or degenerate faces. Hope this could help. best regards Alain |

You also might want to simplify (or consolidate the small features)the geometry by merging the faces in Gambit (or upstream of Gambit).
If you go the TGrid route, make sure you set the variable EXPORT_SURFACE_MESH_ONLY (Edit->Defaults; FILE_IO tab; FLUENT5 radio button) switch to 1 to allow export of the surface mesh. Tip: make sure you define all surface boundaries, ie., outer-wall, rocket-wall, pressure-inlet, etc. |

I get this message right before volume initialization fails:
No cell intersected by bf30100(meshing bn15038) anyone know what this means? thanks for the help |

You need to clean-up your geometry by removing small faces (small relative to the interval sizing you are using for your meshing)
