Is it good practice to use pv coupled method in supersonic mach 2.3?
The results obtained are much faster than Density based!

It's not a bad idea. I would do it. Makes sense. Actually I often don't even use COUPLED but go straight to SIMPLE, it's even faster.

So we use the same equations in a sequential manner in simple, in a coupled manner at the same time excluding energy in PV coupled and all together in density. What Mach margin is decided by standard or engineering judgement supporting PV Coupling?

They all work. It is a big min/max optimization of stability vs cost. The vanilla density-based solver is unstable in the zero Mach number limit, but pre-conditioners are used to stabilize it. High mach number flows are a piece of cake.
