segregated flow

can FLUENT simulate segregated flow? if yes, what is the model i should use? VOF or ASM?

Re: segregated flow

Yes, VOF.

Re: segregated flow

how do i set the volume fraction value? is it a calculated value or estimated value?

Re: segregated flow

after initialising, path the volume fraction DC

Re: segregated flow

if my pipe is a hilly terrain configuration, what value do i have to patch on the volume fraction and do i patch the whole pipe? does the value of volume fraction calculated from superficial air and liquid velocities? does it the formula of volume fraction=Vsl/(Vsl+Vsg)? pls give any advise. thanks

Re: segregated flow

U should patch the initial volume fraction (before the fluid starts moving), fluent will look after the time evolution.

DC

Re: segregated flow

as i stated b4, my geometry is a hilly terrain pipe. do i need to patch the whole pipe or at the inlet face? thanks

Re: segregated flow

could you please send me a doc file showing ur geometry and flow conditions. Don't post this to this mailing list. My email is david_carnara@yahoo.com
