Hello

Does anyone know if it is possible to simulate the Joule-Thompson effect in FLUENT? I am trying to simulate natural gas through a pressure regulating valve and its expansion at the outlet. It seems that, in compressible flows, FLUENT only allows to model density with the ideal gas equation. Therefore, there is no temperature decrease at the expansion. In order to achieve this effect, I understand that I should model the gas as a real gas, with density depending on temperature and pressure in a different way than the ideal gas equation (in fact, I have the gas density for different pressures and temperatures). I have been told that it is possible to do it with a UDF, but it does not work with compressible flow, since using a UDF changes the way density is computed in each cell, but the rest of the code assumes incompressible flow to calculate total temperature, total pressure, enthalpy, etc Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I have a similar problem,
Could you solve j-t effect modeling using fluent?
